People say the movie and season 3 are great but season 1 and 2 are just as good if not better. You shouldnt skip anything your first watch thru. Then move on to season 3 twin peaks: the return. The bottom line for Twin Peaks is that the first season caught the country by storm, but people had short attention spans (even back then) and the network 'forced' the show to solve the Laura Palmer murder in the middle of season 2, which seemed to lead to a mass exodus of people from the fanbase and the inevitable show cancellation.
Im just finishing up season 2 now (only episode 21 and 22 left), and it has been a ride. I just finished Season 1, and I liked it.
